Basic Homemade Muesli
Eating healthy and creating delicious meals doesn’t have to be expensive. Muesli is a great breakfast option and costing just 15p a portion making it yourself will help save you money compared to shop bought versions which often have sugar added to them.
Ingredients
- 200g Oats
- 60g Cashews, Chopped
- 100g Dried Fruit
Method
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 160C/325F
Step 2: In a bowl, mix together the chopped cashews and oats then spread out on a large baking tray.
Step 3: Cook for 10 minutes, tossing halfway through. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
Step 4: Mix in the dried fruit and store in an airtight container.
Step 5: Serve with milk or yoghurt and enjoy.
Tips
This is a basic recipe, if you want more variety, replace some of the oats with other grains such as wheat germ, barley or rye flakes and add other chopped nuts such as hazelnuts, walnuts or pecans.
